| Bio: | I'm a recovered indie-rock chick, one who rarely even listens to music anymore but who has retained the indie-rock snobbery in some (ok, many) respects.
After a very long and emotional struggle trying to get pregnant, Cooper was born on May 17, 2004, 6 weeks premature....if you are interested in the (long) birth story, it is saved in my Memories, in several parts.
Two years later, after a difficult pregnancy and 6 weeks of off-and-on preterm labor, Bones arrived on May 3, 2006.
Words cannot describe how much I love being a mom, and I could ramble for days and days about every aspect of parenthood. However, I am trying incredibly hard to balance the "mom" me with the rest of me, by trying to keep up my non-mom friendships, pre-mom interests, etc. I work full-time at a job I mostly love, but find great frustration in trying to live up to the Super-Mommy ideal of being a very actively involved parent with an equally successful career. Some days I feel I'm succeeding better than others, and I admit when I slack it is on the work-side rather than the parent-side.
My entries are locked....not because anything I'm writing is all that serious or risky or even necessarily private, but I just don't like to have it out there for anyone to see. But if you are interested, ask.
